My name is Amanda. I grew up in Kalamunda, where at the age of 6 years old I was introduced to Classical Ballet classes where I grew a passion for movement with quality control and harmony. Continuing into my teens I also enjoyed Jazz Ballet classes, and having loved Ballet and excelling in sport from a young age, I went on to become a personal trainer.
Fast forward to my early twenties, I moved interstate and started a family of which I am a proud Mum of two boys.
In 2005 after a car accident sustaining severe whiplash, constant headaches and nausea, I had lost confidence in my body which is where my Pilates journey began.
In a short time after attending Pilates classes, I had my quality of life returned. I loved the passion it rekindled in me for movement with quality, peace, confidence, strength and flexibility which I once had.
I knew at some point in my journey I wanted to become a Pilates teacher and share this amazing method of movement.
In 2011 I completed a Diploma of Professional Pilates as well as Certificate III in Mat work. It is my passion to see people enjoy moving their bodies and gain confidence, strength, flexibility and more. I have been fortunate to have 11 years experience working in a Physiotherapy / Allied Health clinic where I grew a passion to help those with injuries, pre / post surgery, pelvic floor strength, pre and post natal, dancers and the natural ageing process.
I am grateful my skill set is vast, as I have had many amazing Pilates mentors over the years, and am confident working with bodies with various needs and conditions.
Since my return to Kalamunda permanently, I’ve been enjoying teaching mat classes and Seniors Chair Pilates in the community.
I love to spend time with my family, my garden and being in nature. I also love animals and I’m of Christian faith.
I look forward to being a part of your Pilates journey.
